Questions from Digital Divide

Since the introduction of digital archiving and online research, is the practice of artists studying their present world lost? If so, is it for better or worse?

With the ability to digitize, duplicate, and circulate images, how has the value of an original artwork been affected?

Heres my discussion questions from the first reading

If you have the chance to label/title your art, should you? For a purpose other than narrative of an informative piece.

Does a piece of work have to demand concentration from a viewer to be art? Can it simply be an escape from the outside world?

First project, digital diptych

The left one is my image, in which i tried to create a vision of man ascending to a higher plane whether through faith or science. The theme was apocalypse, which usually carries negative tones, and destruction, but the word itself just means a great change, so we figured we would try to see a good side to it. Ascension to a higher plane of existence seemed worthy of a positive apocalypse. The one on the right is my partners version of the same thoughts.
